... would be to distill the summer of 1979. There was a fuel crisis and most people stayed home. But we spent the whole summer touring round the US National Parks and the deserts of the Southwest. The kids were just the right age to enjoy camping and to appreciate Native American culture, the campgrounds were half empty, and I still had some hair on my head. Happy days!

Why I love Scotland.

No, that's not me in this picture. I took it from the Scottish National Trust magazine, not the place where you usually find scenic photos of this sort. (The waterfall looks nice too - it's known as the Grey Mare's Tail.)
